The Icom GM800 is a reliable fixed mobile radio designed for Class A DSC operation, and includes Class A DSC, AT-141 Automatic Antenna Tuner and HS-98 Handset. The Icom GM800 is equipped for a complete GMDSS MF/HF communication system for Commercial SOLAS regulated vessels. A directional keypad, clearly labelled, and soft keys provide simple and intuitivce operation. 

The GM800 incorporates a speaker with superior, clear audio, and a flat frequency response with a wide frequency range.

SOLAS and GMDSS

This mobile satisfies SOLAS carriage requirements for commercial vessels and meets GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) VHF and MF/HF radio requirements. (Learn more about GMDSS radio equipment in our Guide.)

Meets MED "Wheel Mark" requirements

The GM800 has also passed rigorous environmental testing and quality assurance processes to meet the MED wheel mark requirements for European merchant ships.

Automated distress and safety communication

The built-in DSC provides automated distress and safety communication, while the dedicated DSC watch-keeping receiver continuously scans the six distress channels in rotation. The GM800 is capable of sending a distress relay call. (Learn more about VHF DSC radio equipment in our Guide.)

Viewing display

The 4.3-inch colour TFT LCD provides an almost 180-degree wide viewing angle, with high-resolution characters and function icons. The night mode display ensures good readability in low light conditions.
